Max's Implosion Wish Comes True

Max was diagnosed in April 10 with Neuroblastoma, stage 4. Because I was familiar with his father’s practice (EyeQ Vision Care) I knew of the family, and so followed his situation closely on the family blog done through caringbridge. Max was a very sick kiddo, and had two bone marrow transplants, along with a great many chemotherapy treatments. The wonderful news is that when I interviewed Max and his mom in July of this year, they had just received a great report from UCSF and scans were clear.

Max will be 8 on February 16th. He has a older brother Wes, and a younger sister Lyla. Apparently Max’s wish came from watching his favorite television show, Myth Busters, while he was in treatment. His favorite color is maroon, his favorite book is the Bible, he likes the game of monopoly, he plays the piano and wants to play drums and the tuba, and he plays soccer and tennis,. He plays games on his Ipad. His favorite foods are lamb chops, and his favorite sweet is brownies. I have in my notes that he wants to be a surgeon when he grows up.

"Kalahari Resorts Manager Maris Brenner is donating rooms for Max and family.

Also Doug Studder from Huron Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in setting up Max’s visit to the City of Huron."
